By creating an account or using Splitrippy (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

2. The service

Splitrippy is a personal app for splitting shared expenses among friends and family during group trips. It helps you record expenses, track who owes whom, and calculate settlements. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Your account

• You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• Keep your sign-in credentials secure; notify us of any unauthorised use.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others’ rights.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is harmful or abusive.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users’ data.
• Misuse trip invitations or share links to access groups you were not invited to.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the trip, expense, and receipt data you enter. You grant us the limited right to store and process that data to operate the Service for you and the trip members you share it with. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Financial calculations

Splitrippy provides balance and settlement suggestions as a convenience. They are estimates based on the data you enter and on third-party exchange rates, and may contain errors. Splitrippy does not move money and is not a party to any settlement between you and other members. You are responsible for verifying amounts before settling.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Splitrippy is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial loss arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its calculations.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that could harm other users or the Service.
